My name is Amanda Janes and my family and I own a small coffee house in
San Francisco, Corner Cup, located at 3655 Lawton Street, corner of
43rd
Avenue. Our shop is a community and family oriented shop that is very
active with local charities. To do our part, we are sponsoring a rental
truck with 2 drivers, to take a load of donations to shelters housing
displaced victims in Texas. Our truck is scheduled to leave on 9/13. We
are accepting donations now. We hope to be able to fill a large size
U-haul truck with diapers, electrolytes, baby formula, wipes, shoes,
socks, clothing, stuffed animals, school supplies.

If you are interested, please drop your items off. If you are donating
clothing, please separate them and mark them - boys size 2, ladies size
10, etc. This way we do not create extra work for those already
assisting others. If this interests you, come join us!

I can be reached through this e-mail or my cell 415-571-7206.
Thank you all. Amanda, Liam, Ashley, and Eoghan

# 9/9 John Trudell, acclaimed Native American poet, recording artist, actor, and activist will appear in San Francisco September 9 at the Women's Building.

Trudell reads poetry and speaks as part of a fundraiser for the Buffalo Field Campaign (BFC)--the only group working in the field every day to stop the slaughter and harassment of Yellowstone's wild buffalo.
 September 9.  7 to 9 pm $15 more info (415) 637-1855.
 Woman's Building Auditorium
 3543 18th St., San Francisco
http://www.womensbuilding.org
The Buffalo Field Campaign (BFC) works in the field to stop the slaughter and harassment of some of the last herds of wild  buffalo. Volunteers from around the world defend buffalo on their traditional winter habitat in the Yellowstone area, and advocate for their protection. BFC's daily  patrols stand with the buffalo on the ground they choose to be on, and document every move made against them.

John Trudell is an acclaimed poet, national recording artist, actor and  Native American activist whose international following reflects the universal language of  his words, work and message. Trudell (Santee Sioux) was a spokesperson for the Indian of All Tribes occupation of Alcatraz Island from 1969 to 1971.  He then worked with the American Indian Movement (AIM), serving as Chairman  of AIM from 1973 to 1979.

In 1982, Trudell began recording his poetry to traditional Native music and in 1983  he released his debut album Tribal Voice on his own Peace Company label.  Trudell then teamed up with the late legendary Kiowa guitarist Jesse Ed  Davis. Together, they recorded three albums during the 1980's. The first of  these, AKA Graffiti Man, was released in 1986 and dubbed the best album of  the year by Bob Dylan.  AKA Graffiti Man served early notice of Trudell's  singular ability to express fundamental truths through a unique mix of  poetry, Native music, blues and rock. His latest CD, Bone Days, was executive produced by  Aademy Award winning actress Angelina Jolie and released on the Daemon  Records label in 2002. In addition to his music career, Trudell has played  roles in a number of feature films, including Thunderheart and Smoke  Signals.  He most recently played Coyote in Hallmark's made for television movie, Dreamkeeper.

762 Fulton Street, Suite 300 San Francisco, CA 94102
Join the Campaign for Teen Safety and the Alliance for a Better California

On September 8th, we'll hit the streets in San Francisco and San Mateo to talk to Bay Area voters about the propositions on the ballot and encourage them to vote NO on Propositions 73-78!

After a brief training, we'll be talking to voters to raise awareness around the upcoming election.  To defeat the harmful initiatives on the ballot, including Prop 73, it is critical that Bay Area voters turn out to vote NO in November, and we need your help to do that.

All volunteers will recieve a FREE Planned Parenthood Golden Gate t-shirt.
September 10th, Join PPGG for the

Bay Area Special Election Campaign Kick-off!

The Campaign for Teen Safety against Prop. 73 is joining the Alliance for a Better California to launch the Bay Area Special Election Campaign.  Turnout for the Special Election is projected to be very low, and it is critical that Bay Area voters know how important it is for them to VOTE November 8th.

Precinct walk to raise awareness about the Special Election and DEFEAT Prop. 73
 Saturday, September 10th, from 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM
SAN FRANCISCO: African American Art and Culture Complex
 762 Fulton St. @ Webster.
SAN MATEO: California Teachers Association Headquarters
333 Hatch Dr. in Foster City
The Alliance for a Better California, the statewide coalition of nurses, teachers, firefighters, and other unions, is organizing precinct walks on Sept. 10th in San Francisco and San Mateo counties to increase awareness about the special election and their opposition to propositions 74-78.  The Campaign for Teen Safety - the statewide campaign against Prop 73 - will join the Alliance walks on Sept. 10th to urge voters to vote NO on Prop 73 and keep California teens safe.

If we are going to defeat Prop. 73, we need your help to let voters know how important their vote is!!
** All Campaign for Teen Safety volunteers will receive a FREE PPGG t-shirt! **

WHAT IS PROP. 73?

Proposition 73 is a ballot measure that would amend the state Constitution to require health care providers to notify the parents of teenagers under 18 before terminating a pregnancy.  Parental involvement laws endanger teens, which is why the California Nurses Association, the California Medical Association, Planned Parenthood, and concerned parents all oppose Prop. 73. For more information about this deceptive initiative, please click here.

# 9-11 Truth Movement Sun Sep 11 9:00 AM
Ever wonder why the Air Force didn't scramble its jets to intercept the hijacked planes on 9/11? Or why the Twin Towers fell exactly like a controlled demolition? Or why Building No. 7 went down late in the afternoon, although no plane hit it? These and many other anomalies of 9/11 will be examined at the Veteran's War Memorial Building (401 Van Ness @ Grove., 2nd floor, San Francisco) on Sunday, Sept. 11 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
There will be films, speakers, discussion groups, and printed material. The event is free and open to the public.

# OUR NEXT 2 MEETINGS FOCUS ON 9-11 SCIENCE
Sunday, September 11, 2005 & Sunday October 9, 2005

SF TESLA SOCIETY SPEAKER, MOHSEN HOURMANESH, D.E.D.
RECEIVES TEMPORARY REPRIEVE TO STAY IN THE U.S.

-------------------------------
The San Francisco Tesla Society Presents a free lecture

"Physics, Common Sense & the Collapse
of the World Trade Center Towers"

featuring Jim Hoffman

Sunday, September 11, 2001 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
at Round Table Pizza
Banquet Room on 2nd Floor
5160 Geary Blvd. (at 16th Ave.)
San Francisco, California

The theory that the Twin Towers collapsed because of
jetliner impacts and fires is a core tenet of the official
story of the 9-11-2001 attack and, consequently, the "War on
Terror." The shock of the attack, combined with the
obstruction of investigation and destruction of evidence,
has precluded a credible scientific evaluation of this
theory by any official body. Examining the abundant
photographic and video evidence of the collapses of
the Twin Towers and Building 7 in light of common sense
intuition and basic principles of physics, we show that the
official explanations of the collapses fail to account for
their documented physical features such as their rapidity,
symmetry, pulvarization and totality -- all of which are
consistent with controlled demolition.

Jim Hoffman is a software engineer, research scientist, and
inventor. His work scientific visualizations were
instrumental in advancing minimal surface geometry in the
1980s, and led to the discovery of new 3-dimensional
morphologies for modeling block co-polymers. His graphics
work has been widely published in journals like "Science
News", "Scientific American", "Science Digest", and
"Nature"; and he has co-authored papers on polymer
science in "Science and Macromolecules". Jim Hoffman has
been researching the World Trade Center collapses and other
aspects of the September 11th attack since February of 2003,
and has created the acclaimed website,
http://911Research.wtc7.net to document his nvestigations.

The San Francisco Tesla Society Presents a free lecture

"September Surprise, October Surprise:
Everything You Think You Know About 9/11 Is Wrong --

featuring Barbara Honegger

Sunday, October 9, 2001 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
at Round Table Pizza
Banquet Room on 2nd Floor
5160 Geary Blvd. (at 16th Ave.)
San Francisco, California

Barbara Honegger is a senior military affairs journalist and
founding member of the International 9/11 Truth Alliance.
Her talk will compliment Jim Hoffman's September
presentation and feature a scientific investigation / data
analysis of the 9/11 Pentagon attacks. Honegger was the
first to expose the meaning and central importance of the
multiple-hijack-scenario anti-terror emergency response
exercises and wargames being conducted by the Bush
Administration on Sept. 11th. Her 9/11 contributions are
prominently credited and featured in "Crossing the Rubicon"
by Michael Ruppert and "Inside Job" by Jim Marrs.

Ms. Honegger served as a White House Policy Analyst in the
1980's and was the first public resignation of conscience
from the Reagan-Bush Administration. She is the author of
"October Surprise", the first book to document the secret
deal between the 1980 Reagan-Bush Campaign and the radical
Islamist Khomeini regime to delay the release of the U.S.
hostages in Iran until after the 1981 presidential
inauguration of Ronald Reagan. Exposure of the "October
Surprise" ignited a major Congressional investigation.

Ms. Honegger earned the first accredited U.S. graduate
degree in Consciousness Studies/Experimental Parapsychology,
from John F. Kennedy University (1981). She holds a B.A.
in Communications/Honors Writing from Stanford University
(1969), with expertise in the neuropsychology of human
and nonhuman primate communication.

STATUS ON MOHSEN HOURMANESH, D.E.D.
Citizenship or Deportation

Several SF Tesla Society officers joined other supporters of
Mohsen
Houmanesh at a Federal Immigration Court Hearing in San
Francisco in August.
The Judge postponed his final decision so that additional
evidence regarding
Mo's case can be prepared and presented next year at another
hearing in
January 2006. We hope that at that time, justice will be
served and Mohsen
Hourmanesh will finally be granted his well earned U.S.
citizenship.

# Sept 11, 12 & 14 HoopDance Beginner and Intermediate Intensives with Christabel in SF!
 Sunday, September 11, 2005 - Thursday, September 15, 2005 6:30 PM
Hoopgirl has a new hoopy studio .. classes now at Xeno located in the Mission!

BEGINNER CLASS 6:30-8pm has only 5 spots left. Register early to avoid disappointment.
INTERMEDIATE CLASS 8-9:30pm STILL HAS SPACE.

One consecutive Sunday Monday and Wednesday in September.
Intermediate students continue on to perform on Thursday evening from 5:00-8pm at the Ferry Building.

Sunday's class focuses on torso and arms, Monday's class focuses on legs and floorwork, Wednesday's class focuses on off body moves. There will be special attention given to micromovements of the body, working with the downbeat, freeing the head, working planes, playing to the audience and infusing your dance with emotion. Guidance for performance given throughout class. Intermediate level class will recieve more challenging exercises and moves and must have taken an intensive previously. The intermediate class will include more discussion of performance, stage presence, costuming and creating a cohesive show.

Both classes emphasize poise, elegance, grace, power and originality in creating your hoopdance. The first class also works on learning basic "tricks", the intermediate class starts using those moves in a full dance context which uses each move on every angle, while exploring alternating body height and body angles while doing every move. The intermediate class also covers advanced moves and combinations.

Each evening will have a jam circle to close. Fantastic music will propel us to a new level! Beginner level class is $75 for three night series of classes, 4.5 hours total time. Intermediate level class is $85 for 4.5 hours class and a 2.5 hour live performance lab. Enrollment preference given to those who register for entire series as this creates the "intensive hoop bootcamp" experience. Class size limited to 11 students per class.

Pre-registration required at http://www.HoopGirl.com Go to "Buy Now" link and register in online store. Space is *very* limited and sells out every month for the beginner class. Don't miss out! Christabel is now teaching in San Francisco only once a month. Xeno is located at 1320 Potrero in the Misson, at 25th St. / Cesar Chavez. Venue information can be obtained at http://www.xenodrome.com Please arrive early or promptly on time.

For more information or questions on the class call Christabel at 415-515-0469. Please note that registration cannot be refunded, but credit may be applied towards future classes if I can fill your spot with someone from the waiting list.

The need to build progressive power in our communities becomes more glaring by the day...and here are two fun and meaningful opportunities for you to get down with the League and our allies to do just that:

	• get down in the strategic sense with the Frisco League's exhilirating pre-election strategy
We just had a very successful ballot and endorsement party last Friday, and are on our way to creating and distributing our fabulous voter guides (see our ballot research online at
http://www.indyvoter.org/sfballot
Simultaneously, we're building a base at City College, and starting to get with our allies for local precinct walking. We need all of you to get involved like it's September of '04, but the action is right in our backyards. Look out for emails from us for upcoming opportunities or email natasha@indyvoter.org so that we can get you hooked up with work you're excited about.

	• get down in the literal sense at the SF League's biggest party ever on September 15th
So it's Fall, there is an election coming up, the league is growing and IT'S TIME TO PARTY! Come to club Whisper on Thursday September 15 for the biggest club event the League has ever thrown. there will be two floors of music, 6 Dj's a band and some free drinks. check out our evite
http://www.evite.com/indyparty@gmail.com/indyparty and bring your friends!

We hope to see you rollin' deep at our party, as well as our future events;Check the flier below for more details.

String Band Contest / Crafts Fair at the Berkeley Farmers' Market — Twenty high-spirited old-time string bands will compete for agricultural prizes (Berkeley Farmers' Market gift certificates) in the Berkeley Farmers' Market String Band Contest. The contest will start with a youth showcase (last year, about 20 young folks ranging in age from 7 to 17 fiddled and strummed onstage), followed by the string band contest with 20 bands. In addition, California's own national treasure, Kenny Hall, with his fierce, inimitable approach to the fiddle and mandolin and his thousand-song repertoire, will lead an open jam session. It's going to be intense both on stage and off: superb playing, great listening, fantastic dancing. The string band contest is the cornerstone event of the 2005 Berkeley Old Time Music Convention-a rollicking four-day festival featuring Appalachian music and dance. Bands from San Diego, Seattle, Mendocino, Fresno, and other outposts of civilization will strut their stuff at the contest. The crafts fair will feature beautiful and useful handmade gifts by local artists and crafts people. The Berkeley Old Time Music Convention is co-sponsored by the Ecology Center, Freight & Salvage, Ashkenaz, and KPFA. Location: Saturday Berkeley Farmers' Market, Center St. at MLK Jr. Way, Berkeley. Time: 11am - 3pm. Cost: Free. Info: 510-548-3333, bfm@ecologycenter.org , http://www.ecologycenter.org/bfm/index.html

 San Francisco
Thousands will march on Saturday, September 24 in Washington DC, San Francisco, Los Angeles. MPJC urges Marin's antiwar movement to come together for a united demonstration by joining together and marching together.
 The demands of the demonstration
While we organize around the demand for the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of the U.S. from Iraq, it is essential that the movement show the connection between the war in Iraq and all the other fronts of the U.S. government's war for Empire, including the struggle of working and poor people in the United States. The demands for the demonstration include:
 Stop the War in Iraq
 End Colonial Occupation
from Iraq to Palestine to Haiti
Support the Palestinian People’s Right of Return
 Stop the Threats Against
Venezuela, Cuba, Iran & North Korea
 U.S. out of the Philippines

We need your help to speak on behalf of chickens being tortured by KFC!
Please join Hannah Tai, PETA and Bay Area Vegetarians on Friday,
October 7th from 5:00-6:00 PM to protest KFC at 555 2nd Street, San
Rafael, CA 94901 (Marin County). *Please note new location*. For more
information, please email Hannah (hannahtai@hotmail.com).

compliance in instigating humane practices within their company, and
KFC has refused to make these changes.
Please join our worldwide campaign against KFC by attending this protest.

"September Surprise, October Surprise:
Everything You Think You Know About 9/11 Is Wrong --

featuring Barbara Honegger

Sunday, October 9, 2001 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
at Round Table Pizza
Banquet Room on 2nd Floor
5160 Geary Blvd. (at 16th Ave.)
San Francisco, California

Barbara Honegger is a senior military affairs journalist and
founding member of the International 9/11 Truth Alliance.
Her talk will compliment Jim Hoffman's September
presentation and feature a scientific investigation / data
analysis of the 9/11 Pentagon attacks. Honegger was the
first to expose the meaning and central importance of the
multiple-hijack-scenario anti-terror emergency response
exercises and wargames being conducted by the Bush
Administration on Sept. 11th. Her 9/11 contributions are
prominently credited and featured in "Crossing the Rubicon"
by Michael Ruppert and "Inside Job" by Jim Marrs.

Ms. Honegger served as a White House Policy Analyst in the
1980's and was the first public resignation of conscience
from the Reagan-Bush Administration. She is the author of
"October Surprise", the first book to document the secret
deal between the 1980 Reagan-Bush Campaign and the radical
Islamist Khomeini regime to delay the release of the U.S.
hostages in Iran until after the 1981 presidential
inauguration of Ronald Reagan. Exposure of the "October
Surprise" ignited a major Congressional investigation.

Ms. Honegger earned the first accredited U.S. graduate
degree in Consciousness Studies/Experimental Parapsychology,
from John F. Kennedy University (1981). She holds a B.A.
in Communications/Honors Writing from Stanford University
(1969), with expertise in the neuropsychology of human
and nonhuman primate communication.

# GI Rights Hotline Training October 15
A crucial element to slowing the military machine is helping individual GIs get out of the military!  As CCCO has done since 1948, we are supporting individuals in their resistance and opposition to war.  In particular, we are standing with a group of people —GI’s whose questioning and resistance are increasing and becoming better known

The GI Rights hotline is staffed by a network of organizations throughout the United States and in Germany.  In 2004 we received 32,000 calls from people who needed help obtaining discharge from the military.  Increasingly, people are also using email to contact us and we sent about 3,000 emails in response to email queries.

The hotline provides accurate, comprehensive, and objective information on draft registration, military discharges, civil rights in the military, and involuntary activation and deployment of military personnel.  The work we do and the information we disseminate are known to enlisted people in numbers far greater then the thousands with whom we communicate personally.

We are seeking additional military counselors to volunteer on the Hotline.  Tasks include answering live phone calls, returning phone messages, responding to email inquiries, and making referrals to relevant organizations and individuals.  Volunteers make an initial one- year commitment of at least 2 hours of service per week.

CCCO will be holding a GI Rights volunteer training on
 Saturday, October 15, 2005 9am – 5pm
 405 14th St., Suite #205 Oakland, CA
 Pr-registration required by September 26
For more information or to register for the training, call
 510-465-1617 or 888-231-2226
 Or email steve@objector.org
http://www.objector.org/gitraining.html
The training will provide an overview of all the discharges, AWOL practices and regulations, and  legal and ethical issues in hotline counseling.
